NLO Football Season To Kickoff March 2018

The Nationwide League One on Saturday rose from its Congress to fix March next year, 2018 for the kickoff of its 2018 football season. This was even as it commended the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF over the Super Eagles qualification to the next world cup in Russia 2018. A communique signed by it Chairman, Drafting Committee, Yahaya Mohammad and Secretary, Olushola Ogunnowo issued to newsmen after it meeting in Katsina, said it passed a vote of confidence on the board of the Nationwide League One led by Alh. Mohammed Alkali and the Secretariat headed by Mr. Olushola Ogunnowo.  Part of the communique reads: “The Congress endorsed that the 2018 NLO Football season should kickoff by March 2018. “The congress also endorsed to review NLO rules and regulation and a five (5) man committee representing all the divisions and having the board director to serve as Chairman and the COO to serve as the Secretary. The home –based Super Eagles contingent arrived the ancient city of Kano on Saturday afternoon as Head Coach Salisu Yusuf and his crew countenance the beginning of preparations for the 5th African Nations Championship scheduled for Morocco 13th January – 4thFebruary 2018. Mountain Of Fire and Miracles Ministries Footbal Club strolled past 36Lion with a 3-1 victory and emerged the champion of the maiden edition of Western Nigeria Pre Season Football tourney earlier today in Lagos. The Olukoya Boys defeated 36 Lions 3-1 in the final decided Friday at the Agege Stadium courtesy of goals from two new recruits, Victor Mbaoma, Oche Salefu and Monsuru Bashiru while Bakare Emmanuel netted his team's only goal of the entertaining match. The national chairman, Western Nigeria Football Forum Seyi Akinwunmi in an interview after the final said the forum has achieved its aim of preaching unity and love to the clubs in the zone. He added that the tourney has enabled them to identify players from the zone who will turn out to be groomed and nutured to greatness. Fit Again Adetunji Resumes Training With Abia Warriors After Four Months On Sideline

One of the top scorers in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season, Sunday Adetunji has resumed training with his club, Abia Warriors of Umuahia after being sidelined by injury for four months. The former Shooting Stars of Ibadan hitman, who scored 14 goals in 26 matches for the Warriors before the injury,  ended his season early in Makurdi when he broke his forearm after landing awkwardly as he leapt very high to nod in his second goal in Abia Warriors' historic 4-2 away win over Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium in a week 33 action of the NPFL. After receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, he was later transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia where a team of doctors successfully joined both ends of the broken bones and since that time in August, he never kicked the ball again as he recuperated. SouthWest Pre-Season : Remo Stars Tames Stubborn Lion

Ibrahim Salis' 10th minute goal ensured Remo Stars defeat Non League Side, 36 Lion Football Club 1-0 in the ongoing South West Preseason Tournament at the Soccer Temple in Agege. Ekene Awazie came close in the early minutes to give the Sky Blue Stars the lead but his attempt went over the bar. Minutes after, Sunday Williams dazzled in to compliment Ekene Awazie's effort but 36 Lion goalkeeper, Lucky Jimoh rushed to pick up the ball in their favour. Ibrahim Salis put Remo Stars ahead with a perfect strike after he received a wonderful freekick from Edozie Ewelike and 36 Lions defenders couldn't assist Lucky Jimoh. The Sky Blue Stars continued to put pressure but 36 Lions kept their heads high with beautiful chances missed by Oseni Azeez and Muhammad Tijani. The victory now see Remo Stars go on top of Group B with three points from their first game.

Sunshine Stars FC Of Akure Pulls Out Of South West Tournament In Lagos

Sunshine Stars FC of Akure have pulled out of the South West preseason tournament in Lagos due to the unavailability of funds eventhough the club via it's twitter handle has credited their pulling out to timing logistics. ODSFA Boss Otunba Dele says he is not aware of the development as he has not been on seat in the past one week due to the arrangements for his daughter's wedding. Recall that the team played a preseason friendly few days back in Ekiti state against Enyimba FC of Aba where they lost by a lone goal. Inside sources revealed that no penny was released by the team's management for the said game and same is the case of the South West tournament forcing them to pull out at the eleventh hour. Further revelations shows that players of the team are still being owed two and a half month salaries and as such the team is gradually losing players to other clubs as players are leaving for greener pastures.
