Lobi Stars of Makurdi beat MFM FC of Lagos 4-3 by Penalty kiccks after playing out a goalless draw during regulations time to lift this year 2016 Gold Cup Tourney at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium , Ijebu Ode, Ogu State.

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Monday evening in Ijebu-Ode, emerged the winner of the maiden Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre Season Tournament. The Ibadan soccer lords, overcame a struggling start to the tourney, held at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, to pick the trophy, after a hard earned 1-0 win over hard fighting Delta Force. Taiwo Muritala's fourth minute goal, was all the Oluyole Warriors needed, to emerge the maiden champions of the tournament. The right back lashed to a rebound to fire home, leaving goalkeeper Luqman Orire stranded and that goal turned out to be the decider. Although chances to add to rhe tally were wasted by the Stars, Delta Force showed they were also good for rhe trophy as they tried to draw level, especially in the second half but the Waheed Omololu led backline of 3SC refused to cave in. Super Eagles To Play Cameroon And Congo Next Month

Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) president Amaju Pinnick hinted that Coach Sunday Oliseh tutored side Super Eagles will be active on a FIFA international free day next month, by lining up friendly match for the Nigeria Senior team against fellow Africans countries, Congo and Cameroon in Belgium.  ‎ Speaking on Lagos Base Television station, Channels TV Sports program, Sports This Morning, the NFF boss confirmed that the Eagles will trade tackles with Congo in Antwerp on October 8th and slug it out with Cameroon three days later in Brussels. ‎ "I can confirm that we will play against Congo on October 8 in Antwerp and against Cameroon on October 11 in Brussels, " Amaju Pinnick said on Monday.  The Delta State born football administrator Pinnick stated again that Super Eagles will be playing another friendly match against North Africa country either Tunisia or Algeria on an undisclosed date. ‎   ‎ Nigeria are preparing for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers w...
