Newly Founded Kada City FC Making Waves In The NNL

This year have seen the Nigeria National League (NNL) getting more competitive than the usual form, with most of the old founded clubs like Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC of Ilorin, Remo Stars, Bendel Insurance, Bayelsa United amongst all fighting for the final four spot for promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.

After seven round of games, a certain newly found Kada City FC is dominating her group with couple of games needed to seal NNL promotion playoffs which will come in form of Super 8 at the end of regular season.

Kada City was formed and unveiled in February this year. The team which is sponsored by Hon Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, and being headed by Mr Ekene Abubakar Adams as CEO.

A team formed Six months ago, is currently leading a group in the NNL, that sound interesting, right?.

They started their NNL campaign with a local Derby against Kaduna United but lost narrowly 1-0, before beating ABS FC 1-0 in the second week. The last time, Kada City lost a game was when they went to Abuja to  face NAF FC. Ever since then, Kada City have beaten Kogi United at home 2-0, thumbed Aklosendi of Nasarawa 3-1 away from home in their Week 5 fixture, went past Mighty Jets of Jos at home in a 2-0 win, then grabbed another win away from home by beating Road Safety FC of Abuja 1-0 in week 7.

After an impressive run through the first round of the NNL, Coach of the side Shola Ibrahim Adewuyi  has this to say about his team.

"With much respect I have said it before, i take all the matches in serious manner, because other teams are keen for promotion just as we are, but with much hardwork, seriousness & respect for our opponents, i believe we will make the playoffs.

"We have made it as mandate with all the players that our target is to qualify the team to the NPFL. The team’s brilliant performance so far is based on the target set before the commencement of the new Bet9ja NNL season, which has really helped the team a lot. Adewuyi continued.

"Most of these boys are youths and also I must thank everybody in the team for a job well done. It’s not an individual effort at all, it’s a collective effort and we will try and keep to our best till the last minutes. He said.

"I must be honest, the management of the club are doing what they are supposed to do and that is why we are getting the result and we have to keep doing that till the end and get promoted to the NPFL’’.

"When we won the kaduna State FA pre season tournament, I told the players that winning the tournament is nothing without showing it at the NNL, So we set a target for ourselves before the start of the season, that we have to play well & win matches away from home if we want to gain promotion  to the NPFL. We don’t want our dominance alone at home, we wanted to take it to away games and I can remember vividly that teams that got promoted to the NPFL won a good number of away games. He concluded.
