Gateway United Continues Preparation For 2019 Bet9ja NNLSeason...... Set For Pre Season Tour




Gateway Utd FC of Ogun State, this Thursday intensified preparations towards the commencement of the 2019 Bet9ja NNL season.


The team was earlier scheduled to play a pre-season friendly against Ultimate FC of Lagos on Thursday but was called off as a result of the unavailability of the opponent who couldn't make it to Abeokuta in time for the match.


Speaking to the GUFC Media Team after a  training session which saw the team divided into Team A vs Team B match, Coach Akeem Busari said the atmosphere in camp is not too dull or too high.


"We're awaiting the congress of the NNL, which means we have to intensify our programmes and go into close camping, also play matches outside Ogun state inorder to change the mentality of the players that we want the NPFL ticket this season".


"We will be having Grade A pre season friendlies vs Crown FC, ABS FC, Osun Utd and 3SC and if we are opportuned to play Kwara Utd before the start of our NNL season, we are good to go because these are matches that will help fine tune our preparations", the Coach further stressed.


"The good thing here is that 65% of our last season players have been retained as I believe continuity is key in football, which will further help our quest for promotion", Coach Akeem concluded.


Gateway Utd will be participating in the 2019 Bet9jaNNL Season as they seek promotion into the NPFL.
