Image
Head coach of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club, Fidelis Ilechukwu has said his side expect a difficult Southwest derby encounter against Sunshine Stars FC this weekend. The Olukoya Boys are guests to the Akure-based team in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) top-flight Matchday 6 clash billed to take place at the Akure Towship Stadium. Ilechukwu told  mountaintopfc.com  on Friday before his team departure from Lagos that the contest will be very tough for his lads but he believes his team can muscle out at least a point from the maximum three points at stake. "Everything is possible in football. Nobody believed that we are going to pick a point against Shooting Stars and anything can still happen against Sunshine Stars. "I know that the game is going to be a tough game considering our last game against Kano Pillars. I believe Sunshine Stars will double their efforts to make sure they beat MFM but we will do ou...

NPFL MATCHDAY SIX PREVIEW :- 3SC SEEKS FULL POINTS FROM RIVERS UNUTED

Image
It is going to be a gritty affair in the NPFL MatchDay  Six fixture as Shooting Stars Sports Club welcome the visiting Rivers United FC at the Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba, Ibadan. The match is billed to commence at 4:00 pm on Sunday 5th of February, 2016. Both teams are on the extremes of the log after five weeks into the season. While the homers, Shooting Stars are currently occupying the 19th position on the log with 4 points in 5 matches, Rivers occupies the 5th position with 3 draws and 2 wins accordingly. Three losses on the road, a win and a draw at home is not making the home fans comfortable and this is already putting more pressure on the team of blended old and young players. The effects of the club's last 0-2 away loss to ABS in Ilorin are still permeating in the air and the fans are not ready for more excuses, hence, Sunday encounter must be able to crunch out a win for the Oluyole Warriors. A check on activities in the team camp reveals a full hou...

NPFL MATCHDAY SIX PREVIEW:- SHOOTING STARS VS RIVERS UNITED

Image
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and Rivers United will meet on Sunday in an intriguingly-poised Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash in Ibadan. The match day six clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium is important for both sides for different reasons. United dropped two pints at home in their last NPFL game against Lobi Stars when a win would have seen them stay at the coattails of the surprise leaders, Plateau United. The Port Harcourt side currently sit in fifth place but would be desperate to notch a positive result and climb further up the table. In stark contrast, 3SC are just one place from the foot of the table with the club’s head coach, Fatai Amoo well aware that defeat on Sunday will make life even more complicated for his side. He will be banking on goalkeeper, Michael Uweru to keep a clean sheet on Sunday with Sodiq Suraq, Omololu Saheed, Isiaka Rafiu and Olabisi Samuel the favourites to start in a four-man defence. Amoo is famed for keeping th...
