NPFL MATCHDAY 17:- REMO STARS TO HOST KATSINA UNITED


Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) welcomes Katsina United to the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu in one of Match Day 17 fixtures in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Sky Blue Stars beaming in confidence fashioned out a 1-1 draw against the defending champions, Rangers International Football Club at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu also known as the Cathedral on Wednesday evening.

Katsina United lost their last game 2-0 against Sunshine Stars Football Club and would go into this fixture with all seriousness to get points on the road.

Both teams met before the commencement of the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season with the Katsina Boys coming out victorious after defeating the Sky Blue Stars 3-0 in the first game of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super4 that took place in Gombe.

This is a new ball game entirely because both teams are playing each other in the NPFL for the first time and they both have new managers stirring the ships of their clubs.

The Sky Blue Stars have enjoyed a good run of form since they fell into the hands of FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Match Day 8 rescheduled fixture while the Katsina Boys also won last against the defending champion, Enugu Rangers.

The Match Day 17 is going to be an interesting fixture for both sides as Fatai Osho will hope to extend his team's three games unbeaten record to swim out of the relegation waters and Katsina United will hope to get their first away victory.

Fatai Osho's men should be watchful of Musa Suleiman who is good at delivering balls into the opponent's goal area.

Cup holders Nigeria will defend their Africa U23 Cup of Nations title in Egypt in November after the Olympic Eagles secured a robust 5-0 win over their Sudanese counterpart in the final qualifying leg at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday evening.
