Gold Cup: Organisers Appreciate Buhari, Fresh, Bet9ja, Others






The General Coordinator of glamorous Gold Cup Pre-Season Tournament, Tunde Shamsudeen, has appreciated the distinguish Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Dr. Buhari Abdul-Fatai, for his maximum support all through the tournament.




"I want to appreciate Senator Buhari, for his maximum support from the commencement of the tournament to the tail end. He has been a major pillar to ensure the tournament was successful."




Shamsudeen also went further to appreciate Nigeria Football Federation Executive Committee Member, Alhaji  Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, foremost betting company, Bet9ja, for their huge and massive support for the competition.




He also heaped praises on the teams that participated in the 5th edition of the Nigeria's first Pre-Season Tournament.




"I really appreciate teams such as newly crowned champions, Kano Pillars, Lobi Stars, MFM FC, Kastina United, Remo Stars, Rivers United, Niger Tornadoes FC, FC Ebedei, ABS FC and Kwara United, for honouring the invitation because without them the competition won't take place.




"I will like to thank my media team for the time well spent in making sure that latest happenings during the competition are been circulated, also different mediums for making time in disseminating to their large heterogeneous audience."




The event tournament which started from November 15, through November 24, 2017 has successfully seen Pillars as the champions after defeating the defending champion Lobi Stars 1-0 in the final game of the tournament

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Monday evening in Ijebu-Ode, emerged the winner of the maiden Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre Season Tournament. Cup holders Nigeria will defend their Africa U23 Cup of Nations title in Egypt in November after the Olympic Eagles secured a robust 5-0 win over their Sudanese counterpart in the final qualifying leg at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday evening.
