Wilfred Ammeh Joins MFM FC, Believes MFM FC Will Give Him Bigger Platform To Show His Worth

Nigeria Professional Football League side and CAF Champions League debutants, Mountain of Fire Miracle Ministry Football Club(MFM FC) on Monday complete the signing of Wilfred Ammeh.

The enterprising winger who last played for AITEO Cup finalist Niger Tornadoes, snubs several offer from other NPFL side like Rangers International, AITEO Cup champions AKWA United and Katsina United to join Olukoya boys.

Wilfred Ammeh who is popularly referred to as Di Maria  in Nigeria Sporting circles believes MFM FC are capable of making a statement in the continent, after all not many gave them a chance to secure a continental slot in only their second season in the topflight.

Speaking with owosports.blogspot.com after he complete his switch to Lagos based team MFM FC, the former Kogi United player stated that  'I am very pleased to have put pen to paper for MFM FC.

He further revealed 'I had lots of offers from a number of top clubs but I chose MFM FC because, the club's vision aligns with mine and I was close to joining the club in the mid-season transfer window last season, but the deal didn't go through but Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu still showed strong interest in signing me.

'He was always checking on me and made me realise the club playing on the continent will offer me more visibility and a bigger platform for me to show what I am capable of doing on the field'', he concluded.

Di Maria started his football career with Topflight football club, a club that was key in honing and developing the player's skills. He moved from his primary club to Kogi Utd where he played under Coach Abdullahi Biffo who then took him to Niger Tornadoes where the player eventually made his mark in the Nigerian league. The 21 year old was close to joining BK Hacken, a club based in Goteborg, Sweden in 2016 but the deal fell through after the player had impressed in a test trial with the Swedish club.
