CAF CHOOSES NIGERIA FIFA REFEREES FOR CRUCIAL CONFEDERATION CUP QUALIFIER

The enormous confidence world football governing bodies are having in Nigerian referees have continued to manifest with four FIFA badged ones found worthy to handle the crucial CAF Confederation Cup qualifier  between Smouha of Egypt and Bidvest Wits of South Africa.

The match scheduled for April 15, 2017 in Egypt has Akwa Ibom state Referees Council member, Ferdinand Anietie Udoh and Abel Baba of Kogi state council  as Referee and Assistant Referee 1 respectively. Others are Peter Eigege Ogwu of Bauchi state council  as Assistant Referee 2 while FCT, Abuja  Benjamin Ekabatiem Odey is the Fourth Official. All the referees from Nigeria are FIFA badged.

It would be recalled that a fortnight ago, about eight Nigeria international referees, comprising two groups of match officials were at two different centres for the CAF club competitions qualifiers.

Pleased with the continued recognition of their members by CAF and FIFA in recent times, the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA enjoins the match officials to be good ambassadors of the country in the course of the game and wished them a good match ahead.
