NPFL MATCHDAY TWELVE PREVIEW :- 3SC TO END WRETCHED HOME RUN AGAINST LEAGUE LEADER PLATEAU UNITED

Shooting Stars will hope to continue their spirited and excellent form in Ibadan when they host Plateau United as the NPFL enters its 12th week interestingly. The fixture is billed to start 4pm on Sunday 5th March, 2017 at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

For the home side, it’s the chance to end a wretched run of just two home wins in four since the start of 2017 season and get back on track for a good position on the league table.

Coming from their fine display midweek against the Enyimba of Aba to earn their first point in 21 years against the Aba Elephants, the Oluyole Warriors will look to rise to the occasion this weekend. Fatai Amoo while speaking to the 3SC Media Team ahead of this fixture offered that the players have put the fine display behind them but will concentrate on the next fixture and work on converting their goal scoring chances. ‘We went to Calabar as the least favourite team and we got a point from the match. We played 4 debutants and it paid off because of their prowess and adherence to the match day tactics and instructions. The boys will look to continue from where they stopped’. Sunday Faleye and Jide Apena were rested against Enyimba and will be in high consideration to make the match day roster.

Plateau United have been having a good run in the league this season as they sit on the summit with 21 points from 11 matches and 8 goals difference. Their last home game ended in a draw against Lobi Stars but that would not alter their position on the log. They will also be coming to this fixture with a bullish confidence.

Psychologically, this places the fixture as an interesting one and fans attending the game will be the ones to enjoy the display that will be churned out.

Last season, Shooting Stars played a 2-2 draw with Plateau United in the first leg while the homers beat the Oluyole Warriors 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
Shooting sits on the bottom 18th position with 10 points from 10 matches with a deficit of 2 goals.
