3SC ENDS RIVERS UNITED UNBEATEN RUN



SHOOTING STARS SPORTS CLUB OF IBADAN beats Rivers United 2-1 to ends their five matches unbeaten run in Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 6 at Lekan Salami Stadium , Adamasingba, Ibadan .

The Oluyole Warlord scored the first goal of the game through young star Sunday Faleye on the 17minute after Rivers United defenders fail to clear from corner kick.

On the 30th minute unmarked Lukman Mohammed equalised for the visitor from corner kick to put the 1-1 before halftime .

Home team were too solid in the midfield , they enjoy most ball possession of the game and it yielded positively on 77minute as Jide Apena put a smile on the faces of the home team fans by scoring the winning goal with an assist from Sunday Faleye.

Sunday Faleye was voted man of the match and he has scored twice for 3SC in the ongoing season , with his first goal against Lobi Stars in the opening fixture of the season.

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Monday evening in Ijebu-Ode, emerged the winner of the maiden Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre Season Tournament. Cup holders Nigeria will defend their Africa U23 Cup of Nations title in Egypt in November after the Olympic Eagles secured a robust 5-0 win over their Sudanese counterpart in the final qualifying leg at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday evening.
