3SC WELCOMES OSUN STARS IN A FRIENDLY GAME ON SUNDAY


Shooting Stars resumed training immediately after their 2-1 mercurial victory over Rivers United the penultimate weekend.

 The gaffer was happy with the much needed win and also encouraged the boys not to relent on their much improved performance versus the Port- Harcourt boys. The team has however returned to camp to prepare for subsequent matches in the league and also to continue the team building.

 Shooting Stars was not involved in in the match-day 7 fixture as its opponent, Wikki Tourist are preparing for their CAF Confederations Cup against their opponent RSLAF of Sierra Leone over the weekend while our fixture on the match-day 8 against Rangers FC of Enugu has also been shifted as the team will be far away in Algeria featuring in the CAF Champions League round of matches against Saora FC.

 In lieu of the postponed matches, The Oluyole Warriors will be welcoming Osun United to Adamasingba Stadium on Sunday in a friendly encounter to keep the boys sharp and in preparation for their upcoming NPFL fixtures. 

 The friendly match interestingly will also afford the new gaffer of the State of Osun boys; Duke Udi to test his newly assembled team against a top opposition.

 The new home and away strips will be officially launched during the friendly game prior to it going on sale for our teeming fans across the globe. The gate will be flung opened in appreciation of the home support the team has enjoyed so far this season.

 The team will be the guest of Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on the 19th of February in the Week 9 of the NPFL fixture.

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Monday evening in Ijebu-Ode, emerged the winner of the maiden Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre Season Tournament. The Ibadan soccer lords, overcame a struggling start to the tourney, held at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, to pick the trophy, after a hard earned 1-0 win over hard fighting Delta Force. Cup holders Nigeria will defend their Africa U23 Cup of Nations title in Egypt in November after the Olympic Eagles secured a robust 5-0 win over their Sudanese counterpart in the final qualifying leg at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday evening. A brace by Ndifreke Effiong and one each by Taiwo Awoniyi, Sunday Faleye and Sunusi Ibrahim ensured a 5-1 aggregate win for the 1996 Olympic champions, and they became the fourth team after hosts Egypt, Zambia and South Africa to earn berths in the final scheduled for 8 th  – 22 nd  November.
