In San Jose, United States youth international Fatai Alashe gave San Jose Earthquakes a 70th minute lead but his goal was cancelled out by Seattle Sounders Designated Player Obafemi Martins eight minutes from time.

Martins has now scored 12 goals in 16 games while Alashe has struck twice in 23 appearances.

Canada international Tesho Akindele bagged his fifth goal of this season in Dallas’ 2 - 1 win over New York City at Toyota Stadium. He was replaced seven minutes from time.

Cup holders Nigeria will defend their Africa U23 Cup of Nations title in Egypt in November after the Olympic Eagles secured a robust 5-0 win over their Sudanese counterpart in the final qualifying leg at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Tuesday evening.
