OLISEH: NIGER WIN WILL BOOST OUR CONFIDENCE

Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has said his team’s 2-0 win over Niger in a friendly on Tuesday will boost his team’s confidence.

The Super Eagles struggled to get going at the weekend in Tanzania in a 2017 AFCON qualifier, but on Tuesday in Port Harcourt they raised their game against a determined Mena of Niger.

“To win a game is good for the confidence,” said Oliseh after the Niger match.

“It was important to win and even more important that we won as an organised team.

“We are getting more organised – we know what to do now when we lose the ball, but we need to hold the ball much longer and dictate the pace of game.”

Oliseh said he is delighted with the resistance posed by Niger.

“Niger did well, that is what we wanted,” he said.
